Do you know the story of the first Pride parade? Ever wondered what “ENBY,” “Polycule,” or “Genderqueer” means?

The Library is an interview series with LGBTQ+ luminaries, which offers bite-size education about gay history, heroes, fascinating sub-cultures, slang terms, scientific references, political movements, and more. When producing The Library, it was .gay’s goal to honor and celebrate the countless LGBTQ+ communities that have flourished in the face of adversity. Kat Buckley is a comedian, graphic artist, and jewelry designer based in Portland, Oregon. Her latest side-hustle is Midnight Sunburn, a podcast where she and co-host Jenna Vesper lose their minds doing chapter-by-chapter recaps of the new Twilight novel.

Trystan Reese is a harbinger of the Trans revolution and serves on the Board of Directors of the Transgender Law Center. Trystan has dedicated years of travel, study, and practice to working on issues of race and racism, LGBTQ (and specifically transgender) inclusion, and more — all towards the goal of a more just, liberated world for all people.

Nicole J. Georges is a writer, illustrator, podcaster & professor from Portland, OR. Her Lambda Award winning graphic memoir, Calling Dr. Laura, was called “engrossing, lovable, smart and ultimately poignant” by Rachel Maddow, and “disarming and haunting, hip and sweet, all at once” by Alison Bechdel. Nicole splits her time between Portland and LA with her chomeranian best friend, Ponyo Georges.

Flawless Shade is a drag performer and holds many pageant titles including Miss Oregon, Miss Gay Oregon XLVII, and Miss Sweetheart XXIX.

The runner-up of Top Chef Season 12, Chef Gregory Gourdet is a three-time James Beard Award semifinalist and native New Yorker from Queens. He has garnered praise for his innovative dishes that combine local ingredients of the Pacific Northwest with meaningful preparations.

Jenna Vesper is Willamette Week’s 2019 Favorite Comedian, a self-described “high energy, crass, hardworking, loud divorced/queer/chubby/hairy slut who loves jokes about her dead parents!” She was a semi-finalist in Queerspace Magazine’s Outstanding Queer Comedy Competition and co-produces the Portland Queer Comedy Festival.

Che Che Luna is a holistic sex educator, pleasure coach, and dancer/choreographer. They work with femmes and non-binary beings to dismantle the limiting beliefs they carry about themselves so that they can replace those beliefs with fulfilling pleasure and radical intimacy.

Dylan started stand-up in Massachusetts and performed in the Mass Moca Comedy Festival. After reading Eat, Pray, Love, he packed up everything he owned and moved 3000 miles, knowing no one, armed with nothing but Felicity jokes, just for the story. He was named the 2nd funniest person in Portland by Willamette Week in 2019.

Logan Lynn has spent the past 2 decades working in music, TV, film, fashion and community. He is a songwriter, producer, filmmaker, television personality and activist who Billboard writes “has made a career out of crafting catchy, disorderly songs that almost all include big beats, fun melodies and cheeky lyrics”. Logan currently works with Grammy Award-winning band, Portugal. The Man, in addition to helping shape .gay’s policies, brand, and creative direction.

Kaia Wilson is an American musician from Portland, Oregon, best known as a founding member of both Team Dresch, a revered 1990s queercore punk band, and The Butchies, a pop-rock spin-off from her solo work. In addition to singing, songwriting and guitar, Wilson co-established and operated Mr. Lady Records from 1996 to 2004.

Frankie Simone is a force to be reckoned with. Their music spans genres and Frankie is hard to put into a box...but one thing’s for sure: Frankie Simone is totally fabulous.

“I love LGBTQ people! Woof woof!”
