We are super excited to announce our newest .gay Early Adopter, the Federation of Gay Games! Welcome to the .gay family, Gay Games.
The international Federation of Gay Games (FGG) is the global governing body for the quadrennial Gay Games, the world’s largest sports and cultural event open to all. The FGG is responsible for oversight and ensuring the continued production of the Gay Games. The mission of the Federation of Gay Games is to promote equality through the organization of this premiere international LGBTQ+ and gay-friendly sports and cultural event.
Since 1982, the quadrennial Gay Games have taken place in seven countries, selected by the Assembly in an extensive process, including the upcoming games in Hong Kong in 2022. The thousands of participants in the Gay Games have come from more than 100 countries! The Gay Games is open to all, young or old, athlete or artist, experienced or novice, gay or straight.
Giving is also central to the Gay Games. Since 1986, Gay Games Scholarships have been awarded to nearly 1,000 underfunded individuals from 70 countries, providing a life-changing week of acceptance and encouragement that the recipients would never have experienced otherwise. The Gay Games also gives back to non-profit organizations in host cities, leaving lasting legacies wherever the Gay Games are held.
