All the Color and Flair from Amsterdam Pride 2023

Picture this: You're in Amsterdam during Pride week. Your senses are inundated with a symphony of colors and sounds, and the air is buzzing with excitement. There are countless events, parties, and experiences to choose from, and you're feeling a tad overwhelmed. Where do you start? Well, darling, let me tell you how I navigated this fabulous maze.

Mr. B Wings Talks: Kink

I kicked off Amsterdam Pride Week 2023 with Mister B Wings Talks hosted by none other than the Mister B Wings team at The Social Hub Hotel. This was not your average panel discussion. A candid conversation with Mister International Rubber, Pusckatt Pumera Onyx, provided eye-opening insights into traditional stereotypes about gender and sexuality. Clark Cullen, their sex and lifestyle columnist, gave us a generous dose of humor by recounting some of his sexcapdes, not to mention that the bondage show by Papilicious was certainly titillating. Without a doubt, this event challenged the norms and embraced the diverse expressions of sexuality in our community.

There's nothing like Pride to bring people together. And during this trip, I had the pleasure of meeting in person some fabulous #DotGay friends, including Jake from www.ohheyjake.gay and Barry from The Queer Indigo.

Must-have: “I Amsterdam” City Card

Next, let me tell you about the golden ticket to unlock everything Amsterdam offers—the "I Amsterdam" City Card. It was like having the key to the city, with access to a world of experiences and benefits. From museum entries to public transport and canal cruises to discounts in local businesses, this card is an absolute must-have for anyone looking to dive deep into the local culture and lifestyle.

The scene at Prik’s Street Party

Ok, and now the parties... Prik's Street Party was off the hook! I've never had more fun singing and dancing with like-minded folks. The Calvin Pride Party at The W Hotel was an unforgettable night of music, community, and celebration. The highlight? Witnessing the dazzling performance by the one and only Miss Envy Peru - winner of the first season of Drag Race Holland. Sickening!

And what can I say about  The Canal Parade - the main event, the pièce de résistance! Even the cold and rainy weather couldn't dampen our spirits as we celebrated in the heart of Amsterdam. Watching the colorful parade of boats going down the canal was such a spectacle: both visually stunning and emotionally uplifting.

After all the excitement, it was time to recharge my batteries. And what better place to kick off "my heels" after a long day of Pride partying than the citizenM Zuidas Hotel. Nestled in a tranquil area away from the city's center but with the Metro Station Zuid just a 5-minute walk away and a tram stop just around the corner, it was the perfect refuge close to the Pride storm. Plus, they have uber-comfy rooms and fantastic customer service.

Last but not least, I embarked on the LGBTQ History Tour of Amsterdam with the fabulous Henk. Bursting with exciting facts about queer Amsterdam, this tour was a journey through the rich history of the LGBTQ+ community in the city. With his warm personality and captivating storytelling, Henk made this tour an unforgettable experience. Totally recommend it!

Rainbows everywhere, a great sight to see.

Till the next time!

So there you have it! If you're looking for a fabulous destination for your next Pride adventure, look no further than Pride Amsterdam. It's a celebration of resilience, unity, and a shared journey towards a more inclusive world.

And guess what? Pride is all about being true to yourself and celebrating who you are. So, let your fabulous light shine for all to see with an online identity that represents you.
